A sports management degree can lead to numerous career paths including publicist, sports agent, event planning, facilities management, athletic director, and sports finances. The probable remuneration in the future does not change the fact that one should need money to pay for the required education. Scholarships grants are certainly great funding options. The following are scholarships for sports management being offered by some universities, colleges, and institutions. Many are institutionally specific, and so scholarship options should be considered before deciding on what program to attend, as many offer more financial aid and scholarship opportunities than others.
1. Marriott Golf Minority Scholarship
Student should be taking Professional Golf Management program and must be at a minimum sophomore level with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50. Grants are given to two PGM students, who have finished at least one co-op. The scholarship amount is about $1,500 and is renewable.

2. Ewigleben, Robert and Esther Scholarship
Applicants wanting to be considered for this grant must be a full-time Professional Golf Management student. Students shall be 3rd year level with a minimum GPA of 2.0. The grant amount differs and is non-renewable.

3. Joan E. Barr Memorial Scholarship
This grant seeks to help an undergraduate student taking a sport management degree. Applicants must establish financial need and demonstrate academic excellence. Applicants must also show evidence of creating a positive commitment to various extracurricular activities.

4. Garret and Jessica Bedrin Scholarship
Applicants must possess good academic standing. Applicants must also show financial need and must be a marginal student.
5. Comcast Internship Scholarship
To qualify for this scholarship, applicant must presently be enrolled in Sport Management Master’s degree program or a 3rd or 4th year Sport Management student. Student must establish monetary need and must have established a very strong educational background. Applicant must have been accepted as a nominee for an academic-credit official practicum with one of Comcast-Spectator’s properties in Philadelphia.
6. Erik K. M. Kjeldsen Leadership Scholarship
Applicant must establish financial need and must show demonstrate academic excellence. Applicant should have proven exemplified leadership abilities through involvement with certain projects or organizations.

7. Chuck McPhilomy Scholarship
This is a grant for undergraduate students majoring inPhysical Education Pedagogy or Sports Management. Applicants must be enrolled full-time. Preference is given to military veterans.

10. Harold J. VanderZwaag Memorial Internship Scholarship
This grant is open to both Undergraduate and Graduate students. Applicants must demonstrate monetary need and must have at least 3.0 GPA and display outstanding academic performance.
11. Glenn M. Wong Sport Law Scholarship
Applicant must establish financial need and must show indication of academic excellence and must have evidence of leadership abilities. Preference will be provided to sport management students who are interested in pursuing Sports Law and plan on enrolling in a law school.
12. Ethnic Minority and Women’s Enhancement Postgraduate Scholarship for Career in Athletics
Applicants should not have started any preliminary postgraduate studies and must perform with merit as a student council member at their corresponding undergraduate institution. Applicant’s participation in course work, extracurricular activities, commitment to getting a profession in intercollegiate athletics and potential for success in the said career will be considered.
13. Dorothy Harris Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship is open to women who are pursuing a degree in sports management as well as other areas in athletics. Applicant must establish financial need and must show indication of academic excellence and must have evidence of leadership abilities. Grant is approximately $1,500.00

14. C. Peter Yost Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is for sophomore full-time student and must be a graduate of West Virginia HS. Applicant must have a grade point average of 3.2 or higher. Applicant must demonstrate interests and involvement in campus organizations and community services.
15. Dana Brooks Doctoral Scholarship
This grant is for doctoral graduate assistants who display financial need and is a member of professional or community organizations.
16. Dr. Patricia K. Fehl Graduate Student Scholarship
This grant is open to graduate students who show financial need and must show indication of academic excellence and must have evidence of leadership abilities
17. Ferris & Deanna Antoon Textbook Scholarship
This grant is open to undergraduate student who establishes academic promise as well as financial need. Funds must be utilized by the recipient to buy textbooks for their program during the school year the grant is designated for.
18. Fred M. Coombs Scholarship
This grant is open to academically qualified undergraduate students with an overall grade point average of 2.8 or higher. Applicants must also show academic excellence and financial need.
19. Jack “Swede” Frauson
This scholarship is open to qualified students taking sports management degree. Applicants must also show academic excellence and financial need.
20. Richard and Helen Lyon Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to students who plan to pursue professions in teaching. Applicant must establish financial need and must show indication of academic excellence and must have evidence of leadership abilities
21. Stephen Mosher Sports Studies Endowment
This scholarship grant is awarded to students taking sport studies and students who have established a significant monetary need. Applicants must be amenable in joining in an experiential or international learning experience, which include independent study.
22. Merton J. ’35 and Helen Roberts Scholarship
This grant is awarded to students who display financial need. Applicants must also show indication of academic excellence.
23. Sport and Leisure Sciences Scholarship
The Sport and Leisure Sciences Scholarship is given to HPLS either undergraduate or graduate students with recognized evidence of financial need and very good academic standing.
24. Make a Dent Scholarship
This award is given to incoming students who have received a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better at present school. This is also open to continuing students who got a GPA of 3.0 or better. A maximum of $5,000 is given to the recipient ($2,500 given in fall and $2,500 given in spring).
25. Eleanor Lantz Scholarship
The applicant must have established a very strong educational background. Financial need must be proven through a letter or other documentation. For renewal, the receiver must keep a 3.0 GPA and marks satisfactory progress.
